I’m originally from Birmingham and now live in Herefordshire. From a very early age, I had the desire to draw and paint. However, it wasn’t till later in life that I was able to channel my artistic feelings to the full. What did help with my creative instincts throughout my working life was being a sign writer for over 30 years.
That being said, the important thing is now: being retired, l have the time to concentrate on my art. Whether I am working on a sculpture or a painting, the joy is turning my thoughts into something tactile as well as good to look at. The greatest pleasure is when someone appreciates my work.
My inspiration comes from nature and all things that surround us. That’s why I want people to look at my work from all angles and see that it undulates and is tactile. Art is a medium that can move our inner feelings so much. I hope that in some way l might do that.
